Anyone tell me why people like doing Fake Quicknotes?
I know it's fun to do it and stuff but why?
Feel free to post your thoughts below although I know what I'm about to get from the majority of you anyway.
It's purely for fun. if you dig up the earlier board topics, you can see how far people were fighting to have this fun fake qn's and what for they have changed the color codings to differentiate the real qn and the fake qn's.

I think it's done for fun, and like Raaj said, plenty of people begged for this feature. I think a lot of people come on the zone because they're bored and looking for some entertainment, and if things are quiet, sending fake quicknotes may liven things up a bit.

The reason that some people on here don't know about the fake quick notes is because their publics are never turned on. lol But turn them on and you'll see what we're talking about. It is a very random thing to do, but it can be fun, as others have already stated.
that explains it. I'm not interested enough to turn publics on just for that, though.
To me, fake quicknotes are like the randomizer: they get old quickly, but I can see why people have fun with them. I don't find these sorts of things interesting, hence keeping my publics off, but unless this feature starts causing real harm, I don't see why it should be banned.
ok... what are fake quicknotes and how do you send them? I'm new to publics so I dont' really get it--but I'd like to. lol

Okay, seems as though I've got some responses, how do you do Fake Quicknotes, needs to be Premium Member right? if so... forget it :)
As I said in my earlier post, fake qn's are purely for fun. If you are not interested in dealing with them, there are ways to shut your publick qn's off.
If you can dig up the board topic about this debate, probably a couple of years before, you can read how far we were fighting to keep this fake qn's alive. Late Dave is the hero, I say.
As I said, even there was a change in color coadings as well. to differentiate the real qn's and the fake ones.

I know the basics of how to do it but how do you do the actual links? I've been trying it but the link of the user's name doesn't show. Just plain writing, makes it looks as though I'm saying it instead of the fake user :)

Sombody told me you need to have hide ignore links on to be able to do fake quicknotes, is that true? I tried turning it on but apparently I still do some Shitty mistake.
